The main building is constructed in brickwork up to 18” thick. More recently modernised areas are steel frame with pile foundations. Ceiling heights vary between 2.2 m and 2.6 m. As the building was once a mill, the floors were specifically designed for heavy use, and can therefore easily accommodate substantial loads.
Red stock bricks are located around the property both of original and modern design. Windows are a mixture of white powder-coated cast frames to the eastern block, and new double glazed PVC windows located to the rest of the property.
The roof is of pitched and ridge construction with insulation and clad in slate.
A staircase is located to the central reception block with an emergency staircase found to the northern wing. Each floor is serviced by a high speed lift for 8 persons.
Male, female and disabled toilets with white sanitaryware. The walls are clad with decorative tiling. The doors are of solid construction with a hardwood finish.
The central reception has undergone major refurbishment and provides access between the east wing and the central, northern and western blocks. This main reception area leads via stairway to carpeted surfaces on upper levels.
